5th Annual Cultural Kite Festival

Some friends and I went to Sugar Land, Tx for the 5th annual Kite Festival. It was intriguing because Kite Flying is a sport in a lot of other countries. The book, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini was part of my senior year English class curriculum. We had a lot of require readings, but this one touched my heart. It was set in the Middle East, about two boys, Amir and Hassan. It's about a coming of age for a young boy, Amir. It's a really wonderful story filled with so much culture. I definitely recommend reading for leisure.
Anyways, the festival was a nice change of scenery, the warm sun and nice wind was enough to make anyone's day better. There were so many families and happy children, and SO MANY different kinds of kites. I went with my two friends, Jessica and Henry, and here are some pictures below from our wonderful adventure.
